2023 Gold Stevie Award

Stevie winners will be presented their awards on June 13 in New York

BELLEVUE, Wash. – May 8, 2023 – Betacom was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the  Best Business Technology Pivot category in The 21st Annual American Business Awards®.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Steviesfor the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Tuesday, June 13.

More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Thought Leader of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.

Betacom is the first-time winner in a first-time category – Best Business Technology Pivot. Betacom was established in 1991 as a wireless infrastructure provider to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. Having completed more than 800 large-scale design and deployment projects, Betacom saw an opportunity to pivot its business model to embrace the end-to-end delivery and deployment of high speed, low latency networks using private 4G/5G technology that is ideal for future-looking Industry 4.0 initiatives such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, and AR/VR.

“Betacom takes a unique approach to the market with our 5G as a Service Private Network,” said Johan Bjorklund, CEO of Betacom. “Our 5GaaS is an end-to-end play that lets enterprises lower costs, reduce network complexity and increase security and reliability without incurring data usage fees, making it ideal for Industry 4.0 applications. We are the only provider to offer this model today.”

In addition, Betacom’s customer Teltech Group won a Silver Stevie for Minority-Owned Business of the Year. The two partnered to implement a Smart Warehouse innovation showcase powered by Betacom’s 5G as a Service private network. This transformative technology provides greater visibility into resource utilization and prioritization.  It also delivers low latency and rapid processing capabilities which enables the connection of multiple devices in a warehouse environment including wireless scanners, automated forklifts and perimeter surveillance with Artificial Intelligence built in.

More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“It is very gratifying for us to be able to recognize the achievements of such a wide variety of organizations, teams, and individuals in the 21st ABAs, and we look forward to bringing them together in New York on June 13 to celebrate with them,” said Maggie Miller, president of the Stevie Awards.
